Youth Fest



Since Youth is considered to be the most dynamic and energetic group of the society. In addition to the four tracks of Yoga, at many places there is a special Youth track in Dharma and Yoga Fest which will focus on the interest of these vibrant Hindu youths and teenagers.

Below are few key attraction of such Youth Fest:

Vedacharya David Frawley (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri)

Vedacharya David Frawley (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri) is a western born teacher in the Vedic tradition. In India, Vamadeva is recognized as a Vedacharya (Vedic teacher), and includes in his scope of studies Ayurveda, Yoga, Vedanta and Vedic astrology, as well as the ancient Vedic texts. In India, Vamadeva’s translations and interpretations of the ancient Vedic teachings have been acclaimed in both spiritual and scholarly circles. He has worked extensively teaching, writing, lecturing, conducting research and helping establish schools and associations in related Vedic fields over the last more than three decades. Vamadeva sees his role as a “Vedic educator” helping to revive Vedic knowledge in an interdisciplinary approach for the planetary age. He regards himself as a translator to help empower people to use Vedic systems to enhance their lives and aid in their greater Self-realization.

Prasad Kaipa

Prasad has been an advisor and coach focusing on innovation and leadership since 1990 for about 120 C-level executives in Global Fortune 500 companies. Prasad’s unique competence is in helping his clients find their next significant step and take it. He found that unless he helps clients to examine their signature strengths that have turned into “core incompetence” and kept them stuck, it is difficult to ignite and channel their creativity to come up with innovative decisions, products, and services. He assists clients in becoming effective in managing people as well as oneself (personal mastery), getting reenergized and building new capacities, and exploring more risk taking, innovative, and strategic decisions.

Nipun Mehta

Nipun Mehta is the founder of, a fully volunteer-run organization that has delivered millions of dollars of web-related services to the non-profit world for free. The recipient of the Jefferson Award for Public Service and the President's Volunteer Service Award, his work creatively leverages web technologies for collaborative and transformational giving, lending him insight into service, leadership, organizational design, and spirituality. He serves on the advisory boards of the Seva Foundation, Dalai Lama Foundation, and Airline Ambassadors.

Ashwini Surpur, Yoga Bharati

Ashwini Surpur is an experienced and passionate yoga teacher. She has a Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga Therapy from Vivekananda Yoga University (SVYASA), Bangalore, India and is the Director of Yoga Therapy at Yoga Bharati. Worked at Oracle as a Software Engineer for 15 years and quit her job 3 years ago to join Yoga Bharati as a full time volunteer. She is pursuing her MA in Sanskrit and composes poems in her free time.

Vinod Sastry, Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS)

Vinod Sastry was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.  He did his bachelor's degree in mathematics and sociology from UC Irvine, and completed his master's' degree in mathematics there in 2011.  He has been associated with Hindu Swayamsevaks Sangh for the last 21 years, and currently the national HSS youth coordinator, with focus on middle and high school students activities.  He also has a keen interest in yoga and meditation, and is currently pursuing his PhD in mathematics at UC Santa Cruz.

Sadhvi Kanchan Bharati Ji, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS)

Kanchan Bharti Ji, pursued her BTECH from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi and MS in Electrical Engineering from UCSD with a perfect score of 4.0 GPA.  She has worked in India and UK with leading MNCs and is now currently working in one of the leading wireless communication company in San Diego. Having strong academic excellence and sound professional career, she doesn’t consider this as her highest achievement. She considers her greatest accomplishment to be a humble disciple of His Holiness Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji and being initiated into eternal science of Brahm Gyan. After practicing meditation for past 16 years with Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) running under the stewardship of His Holiness, she chose to dedicate her efforts and energy to help others to unleash their hidden potentials by realizing the real self, experiencing inner peace, harmony and instilling universal brotherhood and human values through meditation for people from all walks of life. She has conducted several personality re-engineering and holistic wellness workshops in schools, universities, corporate sectors and senior living centers and has been working selflessly with DJJS on various social, cultural and humanitarian projects globally.
