Dharma & Yoga Fest

Several cultural organizations have teamed up to celebrate first ever grand festival of Dharma and Yoga in the Triangle. Through day-long activities, learn about dharmic values, holistic approach to Yoga that leads to stress relief, personal growth and complete happiness to entire family. There will be something for everyone in the festival! Talks, panel discussions, yoga demonstration, yoga booths,  chanting, food stalls, fun
games for children, face painting and of course traditional dances and skits.  There is no pre requisite/knowledge about Yoga is required to attend the program.The event will also commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, who brought Yoga to the United States in 1893.
Keynote speech is by well-known author and speaker Stephen Knapp (
Entry to festival is free so bring everyone with you. The festival is co-sponsored by “Hindu Society of North Carolina” and coordinated by Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh with planning advice and support from the Town of Morrisville.

- A skit on Swami Vivekanada’s life by Children of Balagokulam under the direction of Ponnila Chandren and Cary’s premier dance school     Vandana Dance School (winner of Heritage India competition – 2013)
- Modern games for Children’s that are modified to teach cultural and spiritual values.
- Traditional food by Udipi Restaurant of Cary (at nominal price)
- Exhibition on Dharmic Traditions (Buddhism, Hindusim, Sikhism and Jainism) and Swami  Vivekananda
 -Quiz contest for youth based on the exhibitions
- Magic show by Rajan Uncle
